Jack's Story of Multiple Injuries due to Car Accident
Jack is a 2 year old Lab who was run over... by a garbage truck. Both front legs were severely injured: left radius and ulna fractures with a skin laceration, and a HUGE degloving injury in the right front leg, in addition to a dislocated right wrist. I was very concerned that he would lose the right front leg... but he recovered very well.
Three months postop, his owner writes:
"Dear Dr. Zeltzman and friends: I cannot thank you enough for what you have done for me. I am coming along very well. (...) I really want to go out on my own and play with my friends, but my parents won't allow me just yet. (...) My humans play with me and walk me all the time but it's just not the same.
Once again thank you from the bottom of my little doggy heart. You are all wonderful and caring."
