Kevin Ryan's Story of Hair Ball Blockage and Liver Cysts

Kevin Ryan, an 8 year old kitty, had stopped eating and wasn’t feeling well. Exploratory surgery revealed a large hair ball (trichobezoar) that may have blocked his stomach as well as benign liver cysts.  He recovered nicely after surgery.  He writes through his owner BF:   “ Dear Dr Zeltzman, I would like to thank you for taking such good care of me during and after my recent exploratory surgery. I am glad that it was a success. I was ecstatic, as was my mother, that there was no feeding tube. I was a good and “patient” patient during my strict confinement. I am so happy to be out and about. I am eating well, getting my insulin and strutting around.
I hope all will remain as is now.  I don’t like being sick. I am getting a lot of mileage out of my surgery. I show my scar to the other cats in the household. I also brag that my surgeon is French. There exudes a certain “savoir-faire” in saying that.
But then I prevaricate a bit when I say that you flew over from Liege via Paris JUST to operate on me. The cats are really impressed by my importance. Thank you so much for everything. Sincerely. Kevin Ryan .”
